Jamie Shadlow Civil Marriage Celebrant

Initial Contact
Give me a call or send me an email and I can let you know if I am available on your wedding date.  We can then have a chat about what I can offer.  If you are happy to proceed to the next step we can then arrange an initial meeting, which is obligation free.

Initial Meeting
This will give you an opportunity to meet me and decide if I am the right Marriage Celebrant for you. There is no obligation to go ahead at this stage.

At this meeting we can talk about your specific ceremony and how I can help you.  We will complete a Notice of Intended Marriage and declarations at this stage.  So you will need to bring your Birth Certificates and Decree Absolute (if  you have previously been married).  Obviously, even if we complete NOIM there is no obligation to go ahead.  If you would like to secure a booking with me however, I will require a deposit of $200.  The Notice of Intended Marriage will need to be completed by at least one of you no less than one month and one day prior to your wedding day and no more than 18 months prior to your wedding day.

Your wedding ceremony must be witnessed by two people who speak and understand English and who are at least 18 years of age.  They will be required to witness the ceremony and sign the certificates.

Creating your wedding ceremony
Now we create your ideal ceremony.  It may be small and elegant, informal and relaxed or extravagant with all the added extras.  We will discuss the role friends  and family will play in the ceremony along with the venue, music, vows and any special requirements you have.  I will provide you with samples of vows and ceremonies.  Once we have discussed your ideas and you have chosen your vows, I will put it all together ready for your approval.

Closer to the day, we will need to arrange a final meeting to run through the final outline of the ceremony.

Your wedding Day
I will arrive at the venue with plenty of time to set up, welcome your guests and make sure that all is in order.  My role on the day is to coordinate with all involved (including your guests, photographer, musicians, venue organisers etc) and ensure that you can be calm and relaxed and that your wedding ceremony meets all your expectations.  The idea is that on your wedding day you shouldn’t have to worry about anything.

I am able to provide at no additional charge, a portable ceremony table, tablecloth and chair, PA with microphone and CD player for music.

Lodgement of Legal documents
I will leave  you with a ceremonial Certificate of Marriage and a copy of your personalized Wedding Ceremony.  The next day I will lodge the original Certificate of Marriage and other documents with the  Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages in the State the marriage is performed to finalise the legal process.
